Sewa Foundation Nepal (SFN)

Sewa Foundation Nepal (SFN) सेवा पर्तिस्ठान नेपाल is a non-profit, Civil Society Organization established in 2004 and based in Dang, Nepal. We work mainly in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces, with branch offices in Rukum East and Rukum West, supporting communities that are often left behind in development.

Our Purpose

We work to create an inclusive and just society by empowering marginalized communities—especially Dalits, Janajatis, women, youth, people living with HIV, and poor households through education, livelihoods, social awareness, good governance, and the effective use of technology.

Who We Serve

Our programs focus on ethnic communities, Dalits and Janajatis, as well as vulnerable urban poor and rural populations who face poverty, discrimination, and limited access to services in Dang, Rukum East/West, Salyan, Rolpa and Pyuthan.

What We Do

Sewa Foundation Nepal supports communities and governments through practical, people-centered programs, including:

  • Policy Support to the Provincial Assembly and Lumbini Government
  • Social awareness and social mobilization to promote inclusion, accountability, and citizen participation
  • Vocational education, skills, and vocational training for youth, women, and vulnerable groups
  • Income generation and poverty reduction programs, including urban poverty initiatives
  • Youth mobilization and peacebuilding initiatives at the community level
  • Climate Change, Disaster risk reduction and community resilience training
  • The utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) and digital systems aims to enhance planning, streamline data management processes, and promote greater transparency.

Policy and Governance Support

Sewa Foundation Nepal has actively contributed to policymaking and governance reform. We have provided technical and facilitation support to the Lumbini Provincial Government, Provincial Planning Commission, and Provincial Assembly, including policy consultations, committee support, planning processes, gender-responsive budgeting, public hearings, and social accountability mechanisms.

Our Experience and Approach

With over 20 years of experience, SFN works closely with local, provincial, and federal governments, development partners, and civil society organizations. We believe that sustainable development is only possible when communities are informed, engaged, and able to influence decisions that affect their lives. We welcome government of Nepal, academia, private sector and Development Partners and Communities to have partnership with us.
